How to play Truth Sweeper
Minesweeper, except the mines are lies. Every card on the board is a statement, and some of them are false. Call each one true or false, and use the numbers to find the lies.

How to play
- Tap a card to read it, then answer True or False.
- Call a true card true and it flips over to show a red number: how many false cards touch it, corners too.
- To win, call every true card true.
- Three strikes and the case goes unsolved. A strike is a lie called true, or a truth called false.
Reading the numbers
The numbers work like Minesweeper. A 0 means every card around it is true, so you can call them all true without even reading them. A 2 means exactly two of its neighbours are lies. When a number says all its hidden neighbours must be false, you can mark them without needing to know the facts.
So you have two ways to solve every card: know the fact, or work it out from the numbers. The best runs use both.
Scoring
Your clock starts on your first tap, and your time is your score.
Tips
- Start with what you know. One sure fact that turns up a low number can open up a whole corner of the board.
- Let the numbers do the work. If a card has you stuck, look at the numbers around it before you guess.
- Watch the wording. The lies are close to true: Sydney instead of Canberra, Toronto instead of Ottawa. Read the whole statement.
The statements
Statements come from thousands of facts across movies, sport, music, world, animals, science, history, TV, food, games, capitals and more. Each fact has a true version and a false one, and each day’s board mixes them.
