Guide
How to play Pour
Five pours a day. One glass is poured into another, and you guess where the liquid will settle. It sounds easy until the glasses get strange.
How to play
- Guess the pour. Whatever is in the left glass gets poured into the right one.
- Draw your line. Drag the purple handle to where you think the liquid will settle. Drag the scene to walk all the way around the glasses, and pinch to zoom in.
- Pour and score. Hit Pour and watch. The closer your line, the more points.
Everything is drawn to the same scale, every round, so a glass that looks twice as wide really is.
Scoring
Each pour is worth up to 100 points, so a perfect day is 500. You’re scored on how far your line is from where the liquid really settles, measured as a share of the glass’s height. That way tall and small glasses are judged fairly, and a near miss counts the same wherever it is on screen.
Each pour gets a verdict:
- Perfect Pour 98 or more. Your line and the real one touch, and they glow gold.
- Sharp Eye 90 or more
- Nice Pour 80 or more
- Not Bad 60 or more
- Rough One 35 or more
- Way Off under 35
Tips
- Odd shapes hold more, or less, than they seem. A glass that flares out at the top fills slowly near the rim. A narrow stem fills fast.
- Look from the side. Walk around the glasses before you commit. Some shapes look very different from another angle.
- Compare widths, not heights. How high the liquid ends up depends far more on how wide the glass is than on how tall.
The glasses
Pour has a library of about 60 glasses, from classics like a wine glass, a martini glass and a beer mug to odd shapes like a light bulb, a rocket and a leaning tower. The first rounds are warm-ups, and the last round of the day is always one of the strange ones. Every pour is checked ahead of time so it never overflows.
