How to play Hundo
Ten trivia questions and a hand of ten cards, ace to ten. You bet one card on every question, so the game is as much about how sure you are as what you know.

How to play
- Read the question, then pick a card. Every question has four answers. Before you see them, you bet one card from your hand: a big card if you think you know it, a small one if you don’t.
- Pick an answer within 20 seconds. Right, and you score the card: an ace is worth 1, a ten is worth 10. Wrong, and the card burns.
- Every card plays once. Ten questions, ten cards, so by the last question you’re betting whatever you have left.
- After each answer you get a short fact about it, right or wrong.
Scoring and the run bonus
Your cards add up to 55 if you get everything right. The other 45 points come from the run bonus: win two neighbouring cards, like a 6 and a 7, and you get +5. A full run from ace to ten has nine of those links, so ten right answers make a perfect hand of 55 + 45 = 100. That’s a Hundo.
The end screen sums up your hand:
- Hundo! 100, a perfect hand
- Superb! 85 or more
- Great hand 70 or more
- Solid hand 50 or more
- Not bad 30 or more
- Tough day under 30
Tips
- Save a big card for a category you know. You see the category with the question, so if geography is your thing, keep the ten for it.
- Think in runs, not just cards. A missed 5 also breaks the 4–5 and 5–6 links, which costs 10 bonus points on top of the 5. Put your shakiest guesses on the ace or the ten, which each have only one neighbour.
- Don’t burn time. Twenty seconds is enough to rule out two answers. If you can, guess between the last two.
The questions
Every day is ten questions from a mix of categories: geography, animals, history, food, science, music, sport, space, movies, words, the human body, tech, TV, art and books. Each hand has three easy, four medium and three hard questions, and no category comes up more than twice. Every question is checked against Wikipedia, and each one has a single clear answer that won’t change.
Questions
- When does a new hand come out? Every day at midnight, your local time. The end screen counts down to the next one.
- Is it the same for everyone? Yes. Everyone gets the same ten questions on the same day, so you can compare scores.
- Can I see the answers after? Yes. Once you finish, the end screen lists today’s questions with the right answer, what you picked and the fact for each one.
- Is it free? Yes. No accounts and no sign-ups. Your progress and streak are saved in your browser on this device.
